Keynote: API Standardization in JASPAR for SDV - Kazuo Tsubouchi, Executive Chief Engineer, Honda Motor Co., Ltd.
Wednesday September 30, 2026 10:00 - 10:15 CEST
JASPAR (Japan Automotive Software Platform and Architecture), a standardization organization in the Japanese automotive industry, has established a new working group called the API WG to promote software development efficiency and revitalize the industry. The API WG is not only working on API specification development but is also challenging the code implementation. In this presentation, we will provide insight into the activities and discuss future perspectives, including our recent publishment “Yoriito”.

The Evolution of the ELISA Example System in the Context of AGL SoDeV - Philipp Ahmann, ETAS GbmH
Wednesday September 30, 2026 16:10 - 16:40 CEST
The ELISA example system was introduced in 2023 as a reference for the ELISA working groups and community members. It integrates Xen, Zephyr, and Linux, with the Linux flavor intentionally left flexible. It is a playground to experience ELISA deliverables, and to enable developers to understand the system components.

With the launch of AGL SoDeV, a similar system architecture has now been established under the AGL umbrella. This new iteration is characterized by a regular build process, clear use case, and a well-defined scope, all of which are actively maintained by the AGL community.

To prevent redundant efforts and ensure alignment between the ELISA and AGL ecosystems, this talk will outline the current setup of the ELISA example system, highlight areas for improvement, and explore viable options for its proper maintenance.

By tracing the origin of the ELISA example system, its evolution to date, and its integration with the AGL community, the talk aims for broader discussion. The goal is to identify e.g. effective ways to collaborate with and learn from AGL, to determine where to best maintain which SW layer, and how to establish a process for regular build execution.

Driving Innovation Safely: OIN 2.0 and Patent Risk in Europe’s Automotive Ecosystem - Shane Coughlan, Open Invention Network
Wednesday September 30, 2026 16:45 - 17:15 CEST
As Europe’s automotive industry pivots toward Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs), open-source software (OSS) has become the core driver for innovation, powering Automotive Grade Linux (AGL), ADAS, and connected mobility. However, as automakers and Tier-1 suppliers transform into software developers, they face an increasingly complex patent landscape and rising exposure to Non-Practicing Entities (NPEs).

This session examines the practical utility of OIN 2.0, the newly updated framework for open-source patent non-aggression. We will explore how its expanded "Linux System" coverage shields the modern automotive, cloud, and IoT stacks. Focusing on utility, the talk addresses how European and global enterprises can leverage this community-driven, shared-responsibility model to clear patent risk royalty-free. Attendees will learn how to reduce legal overhead, secure multi-tier supply chains, and maintain freedom of action, ensuring that collaborative engineering remains safe and competitive in the next era of European mobility.

Bringing Dynamic Workload Orchestration To AGL SoDeV With Eclipse Ankaios - Kaloyan Rusev, Elektrobit
Wednesday September 30, 2026 17:20 - 17:50 CEST
As vehicles evolve into software-defined platforms, application lifecycle management becomes as important as application development. In this session, we demonstrate how Eclipse Ankaios (https://eclipse-ankaios.github.io/ankaios/latest/) extends AGL SoDeV with dynamic workload orchestration capabilities. We present the integration architecture, discuss security and resource efficiency, and show how applications can be deployed and controlled on demand. The resulting platform enables new SDV capabilities such as adaptive AI services, flexible feature deployment, and efficient utilization of vehicle compute resources.
